Collaboration
Artistic palace x LOLA JAMES HARper
The Ultimate Recording Studio
The Collaboration
In the heart of Paris’s 18th arrondissement lies Artistic Palace, one of the most inspiring sound and visual creation spaces in Europe.
A vast building housing fifteen music studios and a large photo and video studio, where every day musicians, producers, and artists from every genre — folk, rock, jazz, rap, electro — come to record, experiment, and dream.
When Rami Mekdachi, founder of Lola James Harper, met Pierre Guimard, founder of Artistic Palace, two years ago, they immediately felt the desire to create a project that would unite music, film, photography, and perfume — a tribute to the invisible, inspiring power of this creative place.
For over a decade, Lola James Harper has traveled the world merging scents, music, films, and happenings — a collection of sensory experiences born from collaborations with iconic artists and places such as The Smashing Pumpkins in Chicago, Joshua Hong in Korea, Palais Galliera and Colette in Paris, and Vans and Cadillac across the world.
The Music Place
Each project tells the story of a place, a meeting, an energy.
Each fragrance captures the soul of a space where creation was revealed.
The collaboration with Artistic Palace was born in that same spirit.
Since that first meeting, Rami has been recording all his music at Artistic Palace — sometimes with Pierre, sometimes with his family Lili and Noé, and at times with friends such as K-pop star Joshua Hong, or artists Willy Cartier and Judy Bloom.
From those shared moments emerged a film and an album, testimonies to the magic of collective creation within this inspiring space — soon to be unveiled to the public by Lola James Harper.
And together with their friend and perfumer Claire Liégent, Pierre and Rami imagined a fragrance that captures the soul of the studio — a blend of precious woods, coffee, sandalwood, maté, and spices.
Unveiling of the new Artistic Palace fragrance
We lit the first wick of Artistic Palace and the room changed—studio wood, late-night cables, that focused heat only musicians know. Then lights down: an exclusive preview of THE MUSIC PLACE and the original track “CONTROL.” Artists, editors, stylists, and friends crossed disciplines—fashion beside film, sound beside scent—until the studio felt like a runway. It was intimate, electric, and unmistakably Lola James Harper.
