THE SCENT OF A PLACE WHERE FASHION BREATHES

Two years ago, the Palais Galliera, Paris’s iconic Fashion Museum, unveiled a powerful and unforgettable exhibition exploring the year 1997 — a defining moment that reshaped the world of fashion. A year of bold statements and new beginnings, it also marked the birth of Colette, the legendary concept store at 213 Rue Saint‑Honoré, a place that forever changed how fashion, art, and culture coexisted.

As part of this tribute, Lola James Harper’s fig‑tree scent — the fragrance that filled the air at Colette for 20 years and now belongs to our “Scent of Iconic Places” collection — was diffused through the halls of the Palais, embodying the spirit of a time and place that altered creative history.

When the exhibition came to an end and the fig scent faded, a silence settled. Something was missing — a void left by the absence of fragrance. That’s when a new idea was born.

Together with Palais Galliera, we began to craft a fragrance that would capture the soul of the museum itself: the quiet elegance of its historic architecture, the deep warmth of precious woods, the mystery of dark Bordeaux tones, and the timeless beauty of velvet corridors and curated silence.

The result is a new addition to our Scent of Iconic Places collection:
LOLA JAMES HARPER’s  PALAIS GALLIERA
Available as a candle and a home spray, this scent is now part of our permanent collection — a tribute to heritage, creation, and the enduring aura of a place where fashion lives on.

Now displayed at Palais Galliera, this fragrance is a sensory bridge between past and present, memory and material.

Welcome to a new chapter in the story of scent and style.
