Lola James Harper opens a permanent Art & Fragrance Gallery at ANDAZ Seoul Gangnam, a concept by Hyatt.
Lola James Harper is proud and deeply honored to announce the opening of a brand-new permanent art and fragrance space at the prestigious ANDAZ Seoul Gangnam, a five-star luxury, lifestyle destination located in the heart of Gangnam, featuring 241 guest rooms, four restaurants, and two exclusive hospitality suites featuring magnificent Han River and city views, both with outdoor terraces.
Andaz, translated from Hindi, means “personal style”.
This opening is far more than a new address. It is the continuation of a story, one born from friendship, creativity, music, and the power of a place.
For Rami Mekdachi, founder of Lola James Harper, ANDAZ Seoul Gangnam Hotel is not just a hotel. It is where he stays each time he comes to Seoul.
A place of rest, encounters, shared meals, late-night conversations, and spontaneous music. Over time, a genuine bond grew between Rami, the ANDAZ team, and the hotel’s direction —
a relationship rooted in trust, generosity, and a shared belief in art as a connector.
That bond became visible to the world on July 2nd and 3rd, during the official launch of the Joshua Hong x Lola James Harper Eau de Toilette.
Two private celebrations were held in the hotel’s spectacular Sky Terrace Suite, with a magnificent outdoor terrace overlooking the city of Seoul, bringing together artists, friends, partners, and creatives to celebrate togetherness.
That night, after the celebrations, something unexpected happened.
Long after the guests had left, Rami Mekdachi and Joshua Hong of SEVENTEEN picked up a guitar and began to play together.
They sang So Many Roads, a song written by Rami Mekdachi with his family, Lili and Noé Mekdachi.
The moment was pure, unplanned, sincere. Joshua shared the jam session with his fans, who immediately embraced it. Today, So Many Roads is available on all major music platforms.
And it all began there — at ANDAZ Seoul Gangnam.
Because of this place.
Because of that night.
Since then, ANDAZ has continued to be a gathering point for dinners, music, ideas, and friendship, a place where Joshua Hong, and the Lola James Harper family meet as friends.
In October, during Rami Mekdachi’s return to Seoul for the launch of the Smashing Pumpkins x Lola James Harper duo candles / photography collection / collector fanzine, he once again stayed at ANDAZ.
It was then that the hotel’s management proposed something meaningful: to open a permanent Lola James Harper gallery at the entrance of the hotel.
Together with his local partner, Rami immediately said yes, not only because of the prestige of the location, but because of the human and emotional connection already written into its walls.
Now open, the 50-square-meter Lola James Harper Gallery welcomes guests at the entrance of ANDAZ Seoul Gangnam.
Inside, visitors can discover :
• The full Lola James Harper collection of candles and room sprays inspired by iconic places around the world — from Colette in Paris, to Palais Galliera, to the Smashing Pumpkins duo candles, and the beloved Han River Walk, created with Joshua Hong, inspired by the place where he goes to breathe, meditate, and reconnect.
• The Lola James Harper collection of Eau de Toilette, including the Togetherness Eau de Toilette created with Joshua Hong.
The gallery also hosts :
• A rotating photography exhibition, renewed every month, featuring collector photographs from the Mekdachi family archives, available for acquisition.
• A curated selection of Lola James Harper photo books, films, and music experiences.
Every object is connected to a film, accessible via QR code, allowing visitors to discover the stories, sounds, and places behind each creation.
